Butterfly pea flower tea

Blue tea is a caffeine-free herbal tea made from the flowers and petals of the Clitoria ternatea plant also known as Asian pigeonwings, Aprajita or Blue pea. Common to South East Asia, this popular blue tea has been brewed for centuries and it is loved by many for its health benefits and for its use as a natural dye; perfect for use in food and drinks.

Butterfly pea tea can be served hot or cold, and has a taste similar to that of a green tea.

Color Property

One particular fun aspect of the tea is its color changing abilities. Adding lemon will result in the tea becoming purple. Mixing hibiscus leaves with the tea will produce a bright red tea.
